Eileen Clegg

Eileen Clegg is a visual journalist and consultant for many multinational companies, conference producers and think tanks. She has developed communication methodologies that offer a critical edge to organizations in a networked society. She is the author of numerous books and publications on creativity, organizational learning, future of education, psychology and women’s issues and a co-leader of the Future of Talent project, www.futureoftalent.com. She was a daily news journalist for 20 years and has spent several years as a research affiliate with the Silicon Valley think tank Institute for the Future. She has worked with Federated Department Stores' Recruitment Division, Edwards Lifesciences' Leadership Program, IBM, Thomson Learning, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (Model Secondary School Program), and inventor Doug Engelbart. Author Betty Frain, Ph.D.

Dr. Frain began studying human resilience with her Ph.D. on the subject in the early 1970’s. She has been in practice as a marriage and family therapist for 30 years. Her special expertise is intervention in extreme crisis situations. She was called upon to counsel survivors of the 9-11 attack on New York City’s World Trade Center, as well as witnesses to kidnappings and other serious crimes. She has identified many components of “super-copers,” including optimism, adaptability, empathy, high self-esteem, and trust. She is an accomplished speaker and seminar leader who has consulted with major companies including Daimler Chrysler on their human resource practices. She has devoted her career and life to understanding people and helping them thrive. Frain and Clegg collaborated on a previous book, Becoming a Wise Parent for Your Grown Child, published in 1997 by New Harbinger Publications.
